They were both Commerce students at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia when their paths crossed. Ever since they went on their first date, Sarah and Matthew have been inseparable. They are such a sweet couple and are always ready to make each other laugh and always ready to grab a cup of their favourite coffee from Starbucks!  Matthew was from the East coast and Sarah was from Ontario – when it came time to plan their wedding, they decided to have it in Toronto at the Armour Height’s Officer’s Mess (both of Matt’s parents are members of the Canadian Forces). Before their wedding, I had never heard of their venue and wasn’t sure what to expect, but when I laid eyes on the gorgeous venue I was in love! Stunning tudor-style architecture, elegant water fountain, lush outdoor ceremony area, rose petal-lined aisle – I was in wedding heaven!

This was Sarah & Matt’s “5 Minute Married Moment” – the first 5 minutes after walking up the aisle, they snuck away into a private greenhouse and had an intimate champagne toast. It’s always such a memorable moment for my clients to just take that time to take it all in and focus on each other for a little bit.

Their wedding day began at The Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto, it was an overcast March day the rain held off but the winds were definitely wild!

Rose and Bennett had a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony in the morning…here is Rose trying on her veil in anticipation for the Church Ceremony afterward…

I love it when a couple opts to go for the “First Look”, it always makes for an amazing photo opportunity and also puts the couple a little more at ease when they are at the actual Ceremony.

After the Tea Ceremony, the Bridal Party refueled for the long day with a Hero Burger Power Lunch!

Rose’s Reception Gown was a stunning sapphire blue, and check out the amazing shoes she wore for the Ceremony and Reception….Elegant and Blingtastic at the same time…

The girls headed to the Church in a super cute London Cab that was rented as an homage to the cabs back on the “other side of the pond”….it definitely turned lots of heads as everyone checked it out, pointed to it and snapped photos!

These black and white photos are from their “5 Minute Married Moment” (my own term, you like?)  – I also recommend it to all my clients. It’s the first 5 minutes after you come down the aisle, we whisk you away immediately after the Ceremony to a private room or outside where we don’t direct you, we just photograph both of you for about 5 minutes together – looking into your new Husband’s eyes and let you both just be in and  feel the moment. Every one of my couples find this is such an intimate and exciting time and a great way to capture some emotional photos…

I mentioned it was a super windy day, but it made for some fabulous veil photos…

This is my absolute favourite photo of Rose from the entire day, she is graceful, regal and just downright gorgeous!

They had a great wedding party who braved the cold for photos and kept us all laughing…

Their guests loved to dance and the Party was in full swing – can you see me in the reflection of the mirror on the wall as I took the dance floor photo?

Jennifer and Alon met in such a random way – she was shopping for a cell phone on craigslist and he was selling his cell phone, they met – she bought his phone and he was instantly smitten with her. Alon pursued her and treated her like the beautiful princess that she is, and he still does to this very day. As you can tell by their wedding at the elegant Graydon Hall, it was definitely a fairy-tale romance come-true!

To make sure their big day was just perfect, they made sure to select some of the top wedding pros in the City and Jennifer (with her artistic background) planned the entire colour scheme, decor, attire herself! I wouldn’t recommend this to all of my brides (as it can get overwhelming sometimes), I always suggest the assistance of a professional wedding planner if possible  – but Jennifer seemed to be perfectly fine with combining all the details herself….and it really showed on her fabulous wedding day!

She hired the notable and wonderfully creative Jackie Gideon to create her make up and hair magic! Jackie somehow spontaneously designed a custom hair accessory from the rhinestone encrusted sash (which Jennifer originally purchased to go around her waist) featured in the image above. I think it looks amazing in her hair!

I was in LOVE with Jennifer’s Vera Wang Gown, if you know me – you’ll know that I LOVE all things pink and and it looked so amazing on her…

Just check out those gorgeous layers in the skirt…Jennifer embodied Marie Antoinette in this photo…

This has to be one of my favourite photos from the day – it’s so elegant and regal…the light was just perfect.

Seriously….Uber-Chef Arpi’s cuisine at Graydon Hall is by far one of the best in the City – if you love amazing gourmet food you have to consider this venue for your wedding!

I had the honour of photographing Toria and Ryan’s Wedding this Summer and yes – I  finally have a bit of time to get it up on the Blog (better late than never right?)…

These two were married at Otello’s Banquet Hall in Oakville with a beautiful sunset outdoor ceremony and had their two young daughters by their side as well as all of their friends and family. As you know, I was hesitant to become involved in the details of my own wedding, with my now husband having taken the reigns.  You reassured me that everything would be perfect and would be beautiful.  It wasn’t until after our special day that I really did see the perfection and beauty in what happened.  After the whirlwind was over,  you showed me what was.  What was….was beautiful.

Thank you so much for being the person that you are and the photographer that you are!  I really did not believe in fairy godmothers until I met you.  You truly make the fairy tale happen in your ability to bring the life and magic of a moment to reality through a lens.  Even better, the fairytale lasts forever, as it is documented for life. Regardless of the situation, the piece of magic is always there.

It really moves me to read such lovely words from my past clients, who all become my friends after their nuptials.

After their weddings, and as I’m editing their photos I am always so honoured to have been asked to capture these special moments for them and it’s almost overwhelming when I think that one day their grandchildren might be sitting on their laps looking through these photos with them.

Since I only take on 20 weddings per year, I can ensure that my clients get all the special attention they need as well as advice and support along the way.  I consult with them on how to allocate enough time to ensure lots of creative photos, how to maximize their day for photos (maybe photos before the ceremony), and give them any last-minute pep-talks before they head down the aisle!
